Handling Conflict without Fight Back or Running Away

Sooner or later, conflict will come. But how you handle it makes all the difference.

You might be dealing with a bully at school, parents who just won't see things your way, a coach who has it in for you, or some other conflict; it's a part of life you can't escape. The good news is that God cares about your struggles and gives you powerful truths in his Word. Practice his way of handling issues and you can start turning frustrating conflicts into opportunities to grow closer to others and to him. You'll learn:

When to defend your rights
When to forgive
How to strike bargains
When you should (and shouldn't!) let it go
How to admit wrongs

In a world full of conflict, God wants to involve you in making peace. This book shows you how to approach conflict in any situation in a way that will change your relationships--and your life.

This edition of The Peacemaker includes questions for discussion and reflection and has been completely rewritten with young people in mind.

Endorsements:

"The Peacemaker Student Edition is engaging, concise, practical, and biblically on-target. Ken Sande and Kevin Johnson have done a marvelous job with this book. It has life-changing and freedom-giving potential for young and old alike. I highly recommend it, as I do Peacemaker Ministries." ~Randy Alcorn, author, HeavenThe Grace and Truth Paradox, and Safely Home

"Conflict is a part of life. What makes this book so important is that Ken and Kevin understand that resolving conflict is not simply a skill that can be taught. It's how we live out the reality of the gospel in our own lives. Jesus said that the whole of the Old Testament can be summed up in two commands--to love God and to love our neighbor. This book will help students understand what to do and how, through the power of God's Holy Spirit, to do it." ~Bob Lepine, co-host, FamilyLife Today

"Having seen the effectiveness of peacemaker training in my church, I am excited to recommend this student edition. This should be a must read for all students. It is practical, clear, insightful, and motivating as well as scriptural. Not only does this book teach God's way of handling conflict, but it is useful in building confidence and leadership by example." ~Joel C. Hunter, senior pastor, Northland--A Church Distributed, Orlando, Florida

"The Peacemaker Student Edition is an excellent, biblically sound book that provides age appropriate peacemaking illustrations for youth. I highly recommend it as a resource to teach high school students principles of biblical peacemaking which can be used throughout their lives." ~Tony Evans, senior pastor, Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship; president, The Urban Alternative

"Ken and Kevin rightly call this the 'student edition,' and their wisdom will help young adults who are still in school. But we're all 'students' in the deeper sense. The biblical word for it is disciple. And though my student days lay far in the past, this book taught and re-taught me many things essential to living well." ~David Powlison, author, Speaking Truth in Love; editor, The Journal of Biblical Counseling
