Hope and Help for Victims of Domestic Abuse

Oppressed, hurting women continue to look for help and safety, but there is a disconnection between their need and provision. Women are seeking help. Pastors love their flock. Church leaders, many of whom are volunteers, want to help. Individuals are concerned. Why, then, are women failing to find help in local churches? What prevents our churches from effectively helping women who are abused by their husbands? If you, as a woman have experienced domestic abuse, choose to follow Jesus, He has provided the example, the instructions, and means to love God the Father most, and your neighbor, or husband, as yourself.

Sydney Millage is a Certified Biblical Counselor with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC).  She has an MA in Biblical Counseling from Faith Bible Seminary in Lafayette, IN.  She and her husband, David, raised four children on a farm in the Midwest where they are active individually and corporately in their community and local church.
