Change is hard for all of us, so we need to give our counselees every means of grace for making the life-changing truth as clear as we can. It’s amazing how a ‘fuzzy’ truth can become a ‘hammer’ that breaks through the confusion when you not only say it, but draw a picture to help them see it. Our counselees can often go from sitting in the dark regarding a truth, to walking in the light of God’s mercy when you not only say it, but also help them see it. Pastor Brad Bigney shares some of the most common diagrams he’s used as he counsels and shepherds people. You don’t have to be an artist to use these diagrams in counseling. Remember, Jesus was the master of simple illustrations. Let’s do the same.

This is a session from the Biblical Counseling Training Conference hosted by Faith Church in Lafayette, Indiana.

People are looking for the hope that there are answers for their hurts, their difficulties, and the challenges they face. Since 1985, the Biblical Counseling Training Conference has been equipping ministry professionals and lay leaders to skillfully, confidently, and lovingly minister God's Word to those looking for answers.

For more information about the conference go to www.faithlafayette.org/bctc.
