Developing a Biblical Self-Image

At no other time in history have the pressures to be young, thin, beautiful and successful been stronger. Many women today feel that they should be as competent and beautiful as those they hear about on television and even in Christian self-help books. Because of these pressures, women, both young and old, find themselves falling into patterns of self-loathing, vanity, pride and envy, never making the connection between the life, death and resurrection of the Savior with what they think of themselves and others. This session will briefly explore the world’s emphasis on outer success and beauty and then will demonstrate how a cross-centered, Christ-centered life is the extreme makeover women really need.

This is a session from the Biblical Counseling Training Conference hosted by Faith Church in Lafayette, Indiana.

People are looking for the hope that there are answers for their hurts, their difficulties, and the challenges they face. Since 1985, the Biblical Counseling Training Conference has been equipping ministry professionals and lay leaders to skillfully, confidently, and lovingly minister God's Word to those looking for answers.

You may listen to the first 10 minutes of this session by clicking on the "Preview Excerpt" button above.
