Great resource for premarital counseling!

I'm a counselor at my church & get a lot of couples, young, older, first & second marriages...this book covers the important topics to build on a firm foundation. Everything points them to Christ. I am able to use it with even "pre-saved"...the marriage principles are great for them to learn, & most of my presaved, become SAVED, by seeing our wonderful God through the lessons. I always add a little info about finances, as there is no chapter on that. (too bad, that would be a great addition). Ideally I do this in 6 weeks, one week per chapter, & give them homework in between sessions. It's all I use anymore. I'm even thinking of using it with a 36 year married couple who need to learn the basics of biblical marriage which they never had. Great resource!

Biblical basis for marriage

I use this book with all pre-marital counseling couples. It get them digging into God's Word and seeing for themselves God's plan for marriage, the roles of the husband and wife, resolving conflict, communicating, and principles of sex. I also include a session on finances using other resources. I highly recommend this book.

Good, but could be better

This is a good resource. I used it with a young couple in premarital counseling. PROS: Very Biblical. Very practical. Easy to work through and discuss. The most important issues of marriage. CONS:There were some questions in the lessons that I did not quite understand what they were getting at. The section of communication lacked. I was expecting Faith's four rules for communication. There was nothing on money and finances. SUMMARY: A good resource to use for marriage preparation, but you will want to supplement it with some other resources as well.

Thankful for bold recommendations

I was looking for "Preparing for Marriage God's Way" and of the 5 stores/resources that I requested to get more info on the 'vanished' resource, the customer service at this resource was the only one to steward the need and make a recommendation and I am thankful they did. This is a strong biblical, and thorough resource and is part of my new discipleship evangelism reprotire for premarriage material. Thank you Faith Resources for taking a risk and making a recommendation.

A tool box without this tool is a tool box not prepared for the work of the Kingdom. A must have for Pre-Martial,Post Martial and Problem Martial discipleship. Don't be with it and a spare to give away.

Great Premarriage Workbook for Pastors!

I've used this workbook for three years now as a prerequisite to being married in our church. Couples decide whether to have their own workbooks or one for the two of them. I schedule the six sessions no sooner than two weeks apart and encourage the couple to answer the questions in writing and then discuss their results. I review the highlights each time I meet with them. Just started using it with long-married couples who want to renew their vows. Both first-timers and long-timers love it! In mixed marriages (1 Cor 7), men often become saved in the 2nd or 3rd session. God's used it well for us!
